The Influence Matrix
A Map of the Human Relationship
The Influence Matrix is the fourth key idea that makes up the UTOK. It is a theory of the social process dimensions that guide humans in their exchanges. It posits that the key social motive is the need for Relational Value-Social Influence, represented as "the black line". In addition, it posits three self-other process dimensions of power, love and freedom, represented by the blue, red, and green lines, respectively. The theory also includes emotions on the outer ring as "perceptual response" sets to shifts in self-other dynamics.
